Unai Reglero

Unai Reglero is a contemporary artist, curator, designer, editor, and activist. His practice is based on a questioning of the role of art in contemporary critical times, claiming art as a tool or weapon capable of impacting the social context. Unai creates projects and programs that promote the role of art as a catalyst for critical citizenship that can transform the world around it.

He is the co-founder of CaldodeCultivo, a collective that has developed context-specific art practices, in alliance with communities in resistance, in different cities in the Americas and Europe, including Buffalo, New York City, Detroit, Bogotá, Medellín, México, Warsaw, Gdańsk, and Renne. CaldodeCultivo creates counterinformation, provocation, and agitation devices to amplify the struggles of those who resist capitalist-colonialist-patriarchal domination, creating conditions of possibility where collective action can emerge and thrive, to envision a future otherwise.

Unai holds an MFA from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
