Sandra Rivera

Sandra Rivera is a dancer, choreographer, educator, and writer. She is a founding member of Ballet Hispanico. Since 2018, she has choreographed and performed in six productions of Dances for a Variable Population’s Revival series. Through their auspices, she has been awarded the Creatives Rebuild NY Artist Employment grant. She is a recipient of the 2022 NDEO Lifetime Achievement Award. Her essay, “Spanish Dance in NYC’s Puerto Rican Community,” was published by Dance Index.
