Applications Are Live!

February 14, 2022

Creatives Rebuild New York (CRNY) is pleased to announce that applications for our two, artist-centered initiatives are now open

Guaranteed Income for Artists (GI) will support 2,400 New York State artists with monthly, $1,000, no-strings-attached cash payments for 18 consecutive months. The Artist Employment Program (AEP) will fund employment for 300 artists working in collaboration with community-based organizations across the State for 2 years. Participating AEP artists will receive a salary of $65,000 per year—plus benefits and dedicated time to focus on their artistic practice. These programs and funding will be dedicated solely to artists whose primary residence is in New York State.

Applications for both programs are live, and the deadline to apply is Friday, March 25 at 11:59 PM Eastern.

To ensure care during this live application period, CRNY is providing the following application and community outreach support for New York State artists and organizations.

Our Help Desk is available to assist applicants who have additional questions or require accessibility and/or translation support. Applicants can reach the Help Desk by emailing HelpDesk@creativesrebuildny.org or by calling 855-929-3863, available Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern.

In partnership with the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and several regional organizations across the state, CRNY will co-host online Information Sessions for potential applicants to learn more about our programs. All events will provide live ASL interpretation, live simultaneous Spanish interpretation, and live closed captions in English.

CRNY has hired ten artist organizers from around New York State to recruit artists and organizations to apply for both of CRNY’s programs. Artist Outreach Corps members are equipped to answer questions about both programs and support the overall application process.

We hope you’ll join us in celebrating the launch of these programs—and that you’ll spread the word within your communities, organizations, and arts networks. Feel free to download and share this poster to help get the word out.
